What types of assignments do you accept?
Workers' compensation, liability and bodily injury, and disability surveillance; SIU and fraud investigations; activity documentation; factual investigative reporting; scene documentation; background and public-record research; and asset or business research for subrogation and recovery. If a case does not fit a category, describe it on the assignment form and we will tell you honestly whether we can take it.
How is the work priced and authorized?
Surveillance is authorized in blocks of hours and records work is typically flat-fee, with rates confirmed in writing before any work begins. There are no additional fees: mileage, travel time, tolls, parking, database and record fees and report preparation are included in the confirmed rate, not added to the invoice afterwards. If your file carries an authorization cap, we work to it — hours are planned around the dates most likely to produce rather than burned on days that don't.
Is surveillance of a claimant legal in Virginia?
Yes, when it is done the way we do it: observation from places the public is allowed to be, with no trespassing, no recording where there is a reasonable expectation of privacy, and no contact with the claimant. Lawfully gathered surveillance is used routinely in Virginia claim disputes. A file gathered the wrong way is worse than no file — it hands claimant's counsel a way to attack the defense.
What does the finished report include?
A written chronology tied to the evidence — time-stamped, unedited video and photographs, organized so an adjuster can skim it and counsel can use it. The investigator who did the work is available for depositions and hearings to testify to what they personally observed.
Can you time surveillance around an IME or a hearing date?
Yes — and you usually should. Documented activity in the days around an independent medical exam or a hearing is often the most useful footage a file can hold, because it can be compared directly with what was claimed on that date. Give us the dates that matter on the assignment and we will plan the coverage windows around them.
How quickly are assignments acknowledged?
Immediately: every submission through the assignment intake receives a request number as soon as it is received, so you know it landed. A person who knows the case then follows up to confirm acceptance, availability, rates and authorization before any work begins — submitting a request does not by itself constitute acceptance.
