What a firm gets from us
Written authorization first
Scope, hours and the billing arrangement are confirmed in writing before any work begins. Nothing is incurred outside what the firm authorised.
Evidence that survives scrutiny
Observation from places the public may be, no trespass, no contact with the subject. A file gathered the wrong way is worse than no file.
The investigator testifies
The person who did the work is available for depositions and hearings to testify to what they personally observed.
Dates, not open-ended hours
Where a matter has a filing or hearing date, coverage is planned against it and the deadline stays on the file.
No surprise billing
Mileage, travel time, tolls, parking, database and record fees, video review and report preparation are inside the quoted work, not added afterwards.
Billed to the firm
Invoice or ACH, check by mail, or a retainer check held for pick-up at your office. An existing billing arrangement is honoured where one is on file.

Who do you work with at a firm?
Attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants and in-house legal departments. Most assignments are opened by a paralegal working to counsel's direction, so the intake asks for the firm, the responsible attorney and the day-to-day contact separately and keeps them on the file.
How is an assignment opened?
Through the Legal Investigation Assignment form. It records the firm, the matter, the objective and any court or filing dates, and issues a request number as soon as it is received. A person who knows the work then confirms acceptance, scope and authorization in writing before anything begins — submitting a request does not by itself constitute acceptance.
How is the work billed?
Firms are billed by invoice. We work to an agreed retainer and a written authorization, and the arrangement is confirmed with the firm before work begins — invoice or ACH, check by mail, or a retainer check held for pick-up at your office. An existing billing arrangement is honoured where one is on file. Rates are provided directly to the firm on request; we do not publish them.
Will the report and the investigator hold up in court?
Reports are written to be used: dated, time-stamped, factual and free of speculation, with the video and photographs behind them. The investigator who did the work can testify to what they personally observed. Admissibility in a given matter is counsel's territory — we build the file to your standard.
Can you work to a filing or hearing date?
Yes. Give us the dates that matter on the assignment and coverage is planned around them. Where a matter has a deadline, it is recorded on the file and the work is scheduled against it rather than open-ended.
How do we send documents?
Supporting documents are attached to the case once the assignment is accepted, through the secure case file rather than the public form. Your contact will tell you where to send them when the matter is opened.
